How Does ConnectedCruising Make Money
At ConnectedCruising, we have always believed that there is a tremendous opportunity to connect members with businesses that serve the local community. The following advertising products help us achieve this goal while generating the revenue we need to create a sustainable business.
- Sponsored advertisements: ConnectedCruising displays sponsored content from large regional and national businesses who we believe have valuable products and services to share with ConnectedCruising members.
- Local Sponsorships: Local service industry experts can promote their listings and advertise their expertise in their zip codes by purchasing a Local Sponsorship on ConnectedCruising.
- Local deals: Neighborhood businesses can purchase local deals on ConnectedCruising to advertise special offers to ConnectedCruising members in their area.
As always, protecting your privacy is paramount for us. Participating businesses will not have access to your neighborhood conversations or the directory. To learn more, please see our Privacy Policy.
Community Guidelines
Our mission is to be the central hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information, goods, and services between marina and yacht club members.
We want all members to feel welcome, safe, and respected when using ConnectedCruising. For that reason, we’ve developed a set of Community Guidelines describing what behaviors are – and are not – allowed on ConnectedCruising. The crux of our Guidelines can be boiled down to one simple statement: Please Treat Each Other With Respect.

How to comment or reply on a post
You can respond to a post on ConnectedCruising by adding a new comment to a discussion. To respond, simply type your comment in the post comment section and click Post Comment
You can also add a reply to someone’s comment in a discussion by clicking ‘Reply’ on the comment, this will create or contribute to a thread on the original comment.
Replying to any comment or reply will notify the original commenter and anyone else who replied to them.
How to post a photo
Click inside the “Add to” Button at the header of the specific page you would like to add a photo.
Fill in the required information.
Click Choose Image (next to Featured Image) .
Select the photo or video you would like to share.
If you would like to add additional images, choose “Upload Image” and select the photo or video you would like to share.
Click Submit.

Best Practices for Growing Your Private Community
We’ve found that ConnectedCruising portals are most useful when more members join. Here are some tips that should help in growing membership in your marina or yacht club:
Reach out to your most connected members, including:
- Marina Management
- Yacht Club Management and Board Members
- Active Committee Members
- Long Term members and other influential boaters with your marina or club
Consider sharing our introductory PDF and/or Demo Site with neighbors, so they can see the features that ResidentCentral has to offer and gain a better understanding of how your private community portal works.
How to Start a New Portal
ConnectedCruising members are established by the first member of the marina or yacht club, the Founding Member. The Founding Member has the ability to define certain details of your community and invite members to join.
How to Invite other Members
Log into ConnectedCruising and click ‘invite’ – located in the lower left menu. You can invite other members through individual emails or through bulk uploads.
How we Verify Your Information
Before you can participate on ConnectedCruising, you must verify information used to create your account. Typically, you will receive an information code that helps us confirm proper email addresses and users. If you do not receive an invitation code, we will verify through management rosters or existing member/sponsor verification.
We will never share information used to verify your account with any third party advertisers or solicit based on the information provided.
